Our Lord and Savior JESUS has been gracious to Word of Hope (WOH) Christian Family Church for its 35 years of existence this August 2023. The church has grown tremendously with his grace and favor. To culminate the celebration, Bishop Dr. David Sobrepeña will spearhead our “Celebrate Hope with Jesus in Israel 2023” on November 5-18. A very special moment to Honor God for all his blessings to WOH. With this, may we invite you to join us celebrate, as we walk through the places where our Lord Jesus ministered. By believing through the Power of Jesus, we can assure you of 3Ms, a very Memorable, Meaningful and Miraculous experience with our Lord and our team.

Itinerary

Day 1:Sunday, Nov. 5th

Check in at the airport. Depart Manila for Cairo. Arrival in Cairo. After immigration and customs formalities, we meet our tour guide and take our lunch at a local restaurant or lunch box. Visit the Great Pyramids of Giza where the Sphinx and the Valley Temple. We then check in to our hotel for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 2:Monday, Nov. 6th

We check out of our hotel After Breakfast and visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, described as the largest archaeological Museum in the world. Then we start our long drive through the way to Suez up to St. Catherine. We will have a quick stop at the Springs of Elim, remembers the place where the Israelites camped out during their Exodus. Then we pass by the site of the Battle of Rephidim. Continue our long journey to St. Catherine, located at the foot of Mt. Sinai. If time allows, we will visit the St. Catherine Monastery, believed to be where God appeared to Moses in the burning bush. We then check in to our hotel for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 3:Tuesday, Nov. 7th

Our day starts with a midnight drive at the foot of Mt. Sinai to make the ascent on camels or on foot to see the breathtaking view of the desert at sunrise. After Breakfast we check out of our hotel and drive through the Red Sea to Taba. We take our lunch at Nuweiba and cross the border there to Israel. Then we check in to our hotel along the Dead Sea. While there we can enjoy an “unsinkable swim” in the Dead Sea before dinner and overnight.

Day 4:Wednesday Nov. 8th

We Check out of the hotel and proceed to Masada, take a cable car up to a tour of the historical fortress built by Herod the Great. We proceed to Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found, authenticating the Bible for more than 2000 years. We take the road to Tel Jericho, the city that Joshua first conquered and where Jesus met Zacchaeus sitting atop a Sycamore Tree. If time allows, we will visit the Monastery built on the slopes of the Mount of Temptation and overlooking the whole city of Jericho and the Jordan Valley. We arrive in our hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Day 5:Thursday, Nov. 9th

Early morning visit to the Temple Mount where the Temple once stood. Then we walk ‘the way of the suffering’, the Via Dolorosa beginning at the Pools of Bethesda ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. We walk through the Cardo and briefly stop at the Western (Wailing) Wall, the holiest site of the Jews and where prayer requests are slipped into cracks of the wall. We return to our hotel in Jerusalem for dinner and overnight at our hotel.

Day 6:Friday, Nov. 10th

After breakfast we drive to the mount of Olives to see the panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives, then we walk down the Palm Sunday Road, stopping by the Dominus Flevit where a church was built to remember the place where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. At the foot of the mount is the Garden of Gethsemane where the Church of All Nations is built then we travel few kilometers South to Bethlehem and visit the Church of the Nativity, a traditional site commemorating Christ’s birth, as well the Shepherd’s Fields in the vicinity where the angels told the Shepherds of Christ’s birth. We return to Jerusalem to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 7:Saturday, Nov. 11th

After breakfast we check out of our hotel and start the day with a communion at the garden tomb. We proceed then to Elah valley where David slew Goliath. Then proceed to Jaffa in tel Aviv where Jonah tried to escape. Then continue west to Caesarea Maritima where Paul was imprisoned and see the ancient Aqueduct. Check in to our hotel in Galilee for dinner and overnight.

Day 8:Sunday, Nov. 12th

Today, we drive to Nazareth the boyhood home of Jesus, at Nazareth Village we will walk back in the ancient times to understand the ways of the people that lived in the area. Couples may renew their wedding vows at the church in Cana. We proceed to Megiddo, one of King Solomon’s chariot cities. Proceed to Ein Harod, the spring where Gideon, in obedience to God’s direction, selected 300 men to fight against the large Midianite army (about 135,000 men). Then return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 09:Monday, Nov. 13th

We drive to Tel Dan to see the water source of the Jordan River and climb the steps leading to the altar where Jeroboam placed a golden calf when the nation divided. We stop at Caesarea Philippi where the god Pan was worshipped and where Peter declared that Jesus was the Messiah, and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. End the day with baptism in the Jordan river. Then return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10:Tuesday, Nov. 14th

We begin our activity for teaching at the Mt. Beatitudes, recite the Beatitudes at the Mount where we remember the teachings of Jesus. We proceed to Capernaum, where a synagogue was found dating back at the time of Jesus, more of His recorded miracle were performed here than any other city, yet they did not believe. We proceed to Peter’s Primacy, where Jesus reminded Peter of his calling on the banks of the Sea of Galilee. We enjoy a meal of St Peter’s fish to remember the Sermon on the Mount. We take a boat ride in the Sea of Galilee for a time of worship. We return to our hotel along the Sea of Galilee for Dinner and overnight.

Day 11:Wednesday, Nov. 15th

We check out of our hotel and leave Israel, then we cross the Allenby border to Jordan. We meet with our Tour Guide and drive to Mt. Nebo, the place where Moses viewed the Promised Land before the Lord took him away. We travel to Petra and check in to our hotel there for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 12:Thursday, Nov. 16th

We make an early start in Petra, either walk or ride a carriage to the Siq where we get off on a leisurely walk to see the breathtaking sight of the Al khazna Treasury, a 2000 year-old monument carved out of solid rock. We will enjoy exploring some of the palaces, tombs, and storerooms carved out of cliffs. After lunch we visit Shobak Castle, built by the crusader in second century AD. Then we travel to Amman for our hotel check in there. Dinner and Overnight in Amman.

Day 13:Friday, Nov. 17th

Visit Jerash (Gerasa) one of the 10 cities of the Decapolis. This league of Greek cities, which came under Roman control in the 1st century BC, is mentioned in the New Testament., passing the Arnon River. See Jabbok River the boundary between the territory of the Ammonites and that of Og, king of Bashan also between the tribe of Reuben and the half tribe of Manasseh. We will enjoy a BBQ farewell lunch at Arabic Restaurant before transfers to Airport for our flight check in back home.

Day 14:Saturday, Nov. 18th

Arrival in Manila. You will never read the Bible the same way again.
